Wednesday 9/13 - 10pm update
Hi friends, I mentioned in my last update Julia had been nauseous/vomiting for the majority of last week. She had a great day on her birthday Saturday. On Sunday she was not too well, but was able to stabilize by evening and went to bed early. Monday I canceled her ophthalmologist appointment and decided to call her oncologist office. They advised to take her in for blood test to check she's ok. I thought maybe she needed blood, as she had very low energy, had body aches, accelerated heart rate and vomiting.
Her numbers checkout fine (blood, platelets, ANC) bone marrow is doing its work šš¼. Juliaās potassium level dropped & had elevated levels of lactid acids, indicating she was very dehydrated. Her doctor admitted her to the hospital Monday afternoon to keep her in observation, hydrate her & wait for a couple of culture test to rule out any infections (all came back negative). Yesterday we stayed at the hospital in preparation for her to start phase 3, āInterm maintenanceā early this morning with the first high dose 24hour chemotherapy, but morning blood work showed her ANC had dropped significantly and unable to meet bench mark to start treatment. We were discharge and sent home this afternoon.
Iām thankful to God, He is in control. Last night I had jitters thinking of her starting this week, I felt unprepared as I was not expecting to be hospitalized Monday, it caught me off guard. Next phase is delayed one more week, until Monday 9/18.
Please join us in praying for Julia to enjoy this week, for her body to get stronger, for her appetite to improve, keep her well hydrated and diligent on her nausea medication 24/7, for Juliaās ANC to improve to normal level (needs 750 to start). We have to keep her in a bubble the rest of the week as she is neutropenic.
Thanks everyone for your time and prayers. Iām so thankful to have you partnering with us praying for our little sunshine. I know God is with us directing all that is happening, I know God is hearing your prayers, we are encouraged.
I keep running into the below verse almost daily in different readings, and Iām appropriating it šš¼ Jesus please heal my baby Julia , restore her, give her life & blessings. Sustain us with your peace in the middle of this storm. We praise & glorify your name for what Youāve done & continue to do. Our hope is in You, Amen.
āAnd I will do whatever you ask in My name [as My representative], this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified and celebrated in the Son.ā
